Originally a city girl, born and raised in Johannesburg, Geraldine grew up with a sincere love for animals and nature and spent her childhood watching documentaries and wildlife films which strengthened her passion for nature and conservation.
Combining this love for nature with storytelling and photography, Geraldine went on to study Journalism at Rhodes University. She spent the early years of her career in TV and Media between Cape Town and Johannesburg, until she landed the opportunity to work for WildEarth. Her years spent in the Sabi Sand and Maasai Mara, as Production Manager for #safariLIVE, gifted her the chance to learn even more about the wildlife she shared her home with.
Throughout those years, Geraldine found herself connecting to the natural world on a deeper, more spiritual level, which led her to explore Yoga and Meditation. Finding the bush to be the ideal place to practice mindfulness, her yoga practice soon turned into more than just a hobby.
Eventually the call of Yoga grew too loud to ignore and Geraldine left her career in Production to pursue a Yoga Teachers Training qualification. She is now a 200RYT with the International Yoga Alliance and is passionately bringing her two worlds together – “on safari they ask us to be quiet – aware of everything around us and mindful of the wilderness. In yoga they teach us to be still – aware of our breath and mindful of the present moment.” – Geraldine has found a way to bring these two together in harmony.
Qualified to teach Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga; as well as being a certified Mindfulness & Meditation Guide, Geraldine is able to design, host and manage a wellness programme that will seamlessly compliment your travels, and deepen your connection to the natural world as you explore the beauty of nature.
