DAY

01 ARRIVAL & INTRODUCTION TO GORONGOSA

Arrive around 14:00 on the seat-in charter from Beira (included). Transfer to Muzimu Lodge and settle into your river-facing safari tent. This afternoon, embark on your first game drive—an easy introduction to Gorongosa’s abundant wildlife and vast floodplains. Enjoy sundowners in the open veld before returning to camp for dinner.

02 COMMUNITY & RESTORATION EXPERIENCE

Dedicate the morning to Gorongosa’s inspiring community partners who drive the park’s restoration success: visit schools, Girls’ Clubs, sustainable farming initiatives, beekeeping projects, and human-wildlife conflict mitigation efforts. Explore partly on foot and bicycle for an immersive, respectful experience that connects you deeply with local life and conservation. Return to camp for lunch, followed by an afternoon safari.

03 TRANSFER TO CHICARI + OPTIONAL MOUNT GORONGOSA EXPEDITION

After breakfast, transfer from Muzimu to Chicari Camp with game viewing en route through the park’s diverse landscapes. Guests may opt for the full-day Mount Gorongosa Expedition (additional cost), venturing into rainforest slopes, coffee plantations, reforestation projects, and the spectacular Murombodzi Waterfalls. Arrive at Chicari in the afternoon for a game drive and sundowners. Included: En-route wildlife viewing and transfer to Chicari, afternoon game drive. 04 CONSERVATION & SCIENCE OF GORONGOSA

Today focuses on Gorongosa’s remarkable conservation successes and cutting-edge scientific research. Join the Pangolin Guardians for supervised foraging (included for 5+ night stays), then visit the EO Wilson Biodiversity Lab to learn about active biodiversity research and species recovery efforts. End the day with an afternoon game drive across the floodplains.

05 AFRICA’S EDEN – IMMERSIVE SAFARI DAY

Enjoy a classic full day in the field: a morning walk or game drive, lunch overlooking wildlife at the pan, and a relaxed afternoon safari. An optional night drive is available for the chance to spot nocturnal species under the stars.
