Itinerary

DAY

01 Experience Trails Camp

Upon your arrival at Hoedspruit Eastgate airport the transfer company will be waiting to transfer you to Simbavati Hilltop lodge to then head deep into the bush to Trails Camp.

On arrival at the camp we will have check in, snack lunch before the exciting activities start. At around 3pm you will depart on the afternoon safari after the safety briefing by your guide. Immerse yourself in the footsteps of wildlife and learn about the signs and tracks animals leave behind. Experience the exhilarating feeling of viewing big game on foot.

Return to camp at around 6pm in time for a shower, pre-dinner drinks and then dinner. The evenings are often rounded off with a few drinks around the campfire, warming toes and swapping safari stories.

DAY

02 Walking Safari

Each morning, the adventure begins as your friendly guide awakens you at sunrise. Hot coffee and freshly baked muffins and rusks are served before departing on your morning walk. In single file, behind the guide, head in search for tell-tale spores and taking in the wonderment of being in nature, learn about tracks, plant life and the intricacies of the natural ecosystem.
Morning walks are typically 2.5 hours long to avoid the midday heat. Breakfast and bucket showers available after the morning walk.

03 Head to River Lodge

Enjoy your morning walk and breakfast before continuing onto Simbavati River Lodge.

At around 3pm, once you have settled into your new home, you will depart on the afternoon safari after the safety briefing by your guide. Immerse yourself in the footsteps of wildlife and learn about the signs and tracks animals leave behind. Experience the exhilarating feeling of viewing big game on foot.

Return to camp at around 6pm in time for a shower, pre-dinner drinks and then dinner. The evenings are often rounded off with a few drinks around the campfire, warming toes and swapping safari stories.

DAY

04-05

River Lodge

Early morning, wake up call! Tea and biscuits will be available and at about 6am we will depart on the morning safari. This is generally a great best time to spot the wildlife, as the temperature is cool and the animals are still very active, including the big cats, which will be returning from a night of hunting.

You will return to the camp in time for a scrumptious breakfast and leisure time to enjoy a siesta, the pool or maybe even the spa.

At around 3pm you'll depart on the afternoon safari. Nocturnal animals will begin to stir from their slumber, and similarly, their prey become ever more active and alert as darkness falls. It's a great time to be out looking for more iconic creatures.

Return to camp at around 7pm in time for a shower, pre-dinner drinks and then dinner. The evenings are often rounded off with a few drinks around the campfire, warming toes and swapping safari stories.
